This new design is Mk. IV of Jakealexander.com, currently in a beta/trial installation. If I like this and find that it works well, I will use it to replace my current site.

This site was started a while ago (I think 2003-ish) by my dad, as a birthday present. I took over maintaining it sometime around 2005, and have gone through four different versions since, utilizing, in the first two versions, hand-coded HTML, the second one a CSS template that was heavily customized with HTML and CSS modifications, PHP software (such as a blog, a gallery, and a forum),and many other PHP goodies (mainly invisible to a visitor, but including a rotating header quote, the ability to modify an HTML file for certain parts of the pages, etc.).

The Mk. III website is still available here.
